Code Updates for Mobile Businesses and Food Trucks
The Town of Parker has made an important update to the municipal code regarding mobile businesses and food trucks. Changes are effective as of January 1, 2026, and include the following changes:
Allows mobile businesses to stay in one spot for longer periods of time
The new code allows mobile businesses to operate on the following basis:
Daily (1 day)
Short-term (2 to 89 days)
Long-term (90 or more days)
This means that food trucks may park and operate on one site for an extended period of time with approval from the Town and property owners.
Additional signage
The change updates the code to allow food trucks to have more signage, including:
A sandwich board sign
Temporary banner sign (sign registration still required)
Any signage (or logo) affixed to the sides of the vehicle.
Addresses some additional nuisance impacts
Adds and revises standards to address nuisance impacts of longer-term operations of a mobile business on a site.
Hours of operation
This update allows mobile businesses to operate after 10 p.m. if they are operating in conjunction with a non-mobile business whose operating hours extend past 10 p.m. or when operating as part of an approved community event that has operating hours past 10 p.m.
